Flea And Tick Control Products For Dogs

By Rachele Baker, DVM – It is very important to protect dogs from fleas and ticks. Fleas can cause intense discomfort in dogs leading to itching, scratching, and secondary skin infections. Ticks can transmit dangerous diseases. There are many flea and tick control products available including oral and topical products as well as flea and tick collars.

To assist pet parents in making informed decisions as to which product is right for their dog, I have compiled information about select oral and topical flea and tick control products into tables to make it easy to compare the various products available. There is one table comparing oral flea and tick control products and two tables comparing topical flea and tick control products. I have included information about select flea and tick collars below the tables.
